Frederic Blais, aka Fred Everything, is a 25 year old dj/producer/remixer based in Montreal, Canada. Having been involved in electronic music and parties for more than 10 years now, Fred looks to cement his increasing international reputation in all three disciplines.
Fred has consistently produced a stream of quality underground house cuts, whilst earning himself praise for his precise, dynamic and energetic djing style. Resident at Vira la Derencha at the Jingxi club in Montreal and a regular guest at Angel Moraes' Stereo, Fred's vision takes in latin, disco and funk influences.
Fred Everything first came to all of our attentions in 1997, following his highly acclaimed set at the Sub Club as part of Glasgow's 'In The City" festival. Subsequent appearances at Back to Basics, and the release of his early productions on Vinyl Peace and 2020 Vision, meant that Fred was no flash in the pan.
Often mentioned in the same breath as Derrick Carter, Miguel Migs, Mark Farina and many other acolytes of the quality house music scene. Regularly touring all over the world displaying his dynamic dj style, at such a young age Fred has broken through into the often Fort Knox like dj circuit and has appeared at Home, Fabric, Ministry of Sound (London), The Rex Club (Paris) and most every good club under the sun.
With the release of his debut album on 2020 Vision, many more people took notice of this quietly spoken man. A seamless blend of home listening tracks and punchier, club-bound cuts, Fred's album was licensed to Intonation Records (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and Turbo Recordings in his home town of Montreal to great success.
As a producer, Fred has earned the right to be hailed as one of the most innovative of his time, by virtue of the fact that his unique approach to drum programming and his sound is quite different from anything else around at the moment. Consequently, Fred is now in demand as a remixer and has recorded versions of tracks by Derrick Carter & Chris Nazuka (Bombay Records), Jaffa (Stereo Deluxe) and Random Factor (2020).
With a track record that includes releases on labels such as DIY, Earth, Tag, Seasons and his ongoing relationship with 2020 Vision, Fred Everything is set to become a huge star as more and more people are turning their back on the white, European trance sound. Fred makes black music with soul, funk, grace, not a little skill and plenty of passion.
