ABC Music/Warner4/5 The DVD companion to the triple j Hottest 100 CDs, which are, in turn, a companion to the overall Hottest 100 countdown, is a great collection of music videos – there’s no denying that. From the brilliant sci fi western parody in Muse’s Knights of Cydonia to My Chemical Romance’s Teenagers (a somewhat trivial inclusion after not bothering to include Welcome to the Black Parade – one of last year’s finest videos – on the 2006 DVD), we have here 42 videos from the past year to satisfy everyone’s taste. Some are cutting edge brilliance, such as Justice’s DANCE, while others simply fun (Muscle’s Sweaty, Bumblebeez’ Dr. Love and Architecture in Helsinki’s Heart it Races), this DVD will be great as background filler at a party, particularly thanks to the jukebox option where you can mix things up. Not much needs to be said about this DVD though: you know the content so you’ll either buy it or you won’t. Extras: highlights from the countdown, jukebox |
